Jesus reveals His heart of tenderness and care after calling them out. He grieves, is heart-broken, and compassionate to those hypocrites. He does not want pain, death, harm to come to you. It is a loving warning.
Jesus is not rejecting anyone completely, it is like a separation in marriage. There is hope, that we will see Him someday. But for now, He gives us what we have chosen. You have to fully accept, AND fully bring yourself for a flourishing and mutual relationship in life-- and with God.
